Sinopsis
Tras el triunfo del golpe militar de 1936, algunos combatientes republicanos siguieron luchando por las libertades durante la Segunda Guerra Mundial. Cuando esta terminó, de regreso a su país se echaron al monte para, además de evitar las represalias de los vencedores nacionales, seguir luchando por sus ideales. Este grupo de guerrilleros recibió el nombre de "maquis", cuya etimología proviene de las zonas de arbustos y matorrales (maquia) en las que desarrollaban su actividad. En esta novela gráfica, Manuel Antonio García Iglesias recrea la peripecia de tres mujeres que a finales de los años cuarenta actúan como enlaces con los maquis cántabros. La figura de los enlaces fue fundamental en la resistencia, pues procuraban a los emboscados alimentos, ropa, tabaco, información , y preservaban su supervivencia jugándose la vida. Con esta historia el autor no solo quiere mostrar el inconformismo de estas mujeres, sino también remarcar cómo a la fuerza y bajo la fuerza se buscaba la humillación de los vencidos, que en ocasiones acababan por abrazar la autocensura, "una manera de morir poco a poco".
